On May 29th 2005, Eashwar, left us forever. He hails from a middle class family in Chennai. He was curious, kind and loving. He was nine years young with a splendid life full of opportunities and joy ahead of him. While he was playing outside his house (in Chennai), he stepped on a puddle with loose cable wires. As electric shocks arrested his muscles, he slipped into a coma. Despite doing everything we could within our power, he breathed his last six months later. His loss is irreparable and the emptiness still lingers on. But this is no way an isolated incident. Open wire led electrocutions are reported every other day in newspapers. The apathy of civic administrations is wrecking families.

For the last fifteen years, we have been helping families in need educate their children and pay for hospital bills and equipment as we worked to heal from this devastating loss. We are formalizing our efforts to support and empower those in need through the Eashwar Foundation. We want to honor Eashwar’s memory by working on causes that he would appreciate.
